Study these terms and concepts to prepare for your Chapter 2 test. Try to ask yourself questions based on these items and then answer them without looking at your book or notes.

• How the earth moves in space and its relation to the sun (earth-sun relationship)
• How day and night are related to the rotation of the earth
• The relationship between the earth's tilt and orbits and seasonal changes

Section 2

• Forces that shape the land (such as volcanoes, etc)
• The theory of plate tectonics

Section 3
• ALL key terms
• The difference between weather and climate
• How landforms and bodies of water affect weather and climate
• How wind and water currents affect climate and weather
• The causes of wind and ocean currents

Section 4
• ALL key terms
• Compare and contrast the major climate regions
• Know examples of the kinds of vegetation found in the major climate regions
• How temperature, precipitation, and elevation affect climate in a region

• Know how to read and use Special Geography Graphs (think climate graph)
